Promotional motion design, animation, artwork, and sound-mixing for Boston-based rapper and producer Latrell James, and his (now shelved) project “The Sky Might Fall.” Single/Project Promos, as well as a live show animated loop, first premiering at JAM’N 94.5’s Summer Jam 2018.
Single promos feature artwork by artist Aldora Barrow, live show loop artwork and animation by myself.
“The Sky Might Fall” was a project steeped in reflection— a reflection of Latrell’s family and their health, a reflection of the political climate at the time, and a reflection of life overall. Aldora’s art was already finalized and provided by Latrell’s team, but to push the project’s emotional rawness of this project, we decided with these promos to extend the context of these watercolor paintings to show the whole workspace— masking tape, extra paint brush strokes, the pad of watercolor paper, all of it to contextualize and ground this project and what place it came from— a creative outlet for these things weighing on his conscience.
